Terms of use
What this site is
This site documents and demonstrates Vitrine, a library of web components. Using it is free and requires no account.
License of the library and its content
The Vitrine source code, its documentation and the examples on this site are released under the MIT License. You may copy, modify and use them, including commercially, as long as the license notice is kept. Third-party components are listed with their licenses in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md. The Vitrine name and logo identify the project: do not use them in a way that suggests an endorsement it did not give.
No warranty
The site and the library are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, as stated in the MIT License. Examples are written for clarity: review and test any code before using it in production. The publisher cannot be held liable for damage resulting from the use of the site or of the code it shows, within the limits allowed by the law that applies to you.
Fair use of the playground and stress lab
Everything you type in the playground, theme builder or stress lab is processed in your browser and never sent anywhere. The stress lab deliberately generates hostile content to show how the components defend themselves; do not use the site to attack other services.
Links
Links to other sites (GitHub, CDNs, specifications) are provided for convenience. The publisher does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Changes
These terms may change with the project. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version, and the full history is public in the project's repository.
Privacy
What this site collects
Nothing. There are no accounts, no forms that send data, no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking pixels. Fonts, scripts and styles are served from this site itself: visiting it makes no request to third parties.
What stays in your browser
If you switch between the light and dark themes, your choice is saved in your
browser's local storage under the key vitrine-site-theme, so the next
page uses it. It never leaves your device; clearing your browser data removes it.
Content you paste in the playground, theme builder or stress lab is kept only in the
page, and disappears when you close it.
Hosting logs
Like any web host, GitHub may record technical data about requests, such as IP addresses, to operate and secure the service. The publisher has no access to these records. See the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
Your rights
Since the publisher collects no personal data, there is nothing to access, correct or delete on its side. For data processed by GitHub, contact GitHub through its privacy statement. You may also file a complaint with your data protection authority.
Reporting a security issue
Found a way to make a Vitrine component run code, leak data or freeze a page? Please report it privately through a GitHub security advisory rather than a public issue. The security policy explains what is in scope and how reports are handled.
